Pharmacy Residency Program: Post-Graduate Year One (PGY1)

PGY1 Residency Programs Overview

These one-year residency programs utilize a systems approach to facilitate the development of new pharmacists into competent practitioners able to provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care. Our programs foster the residents’ ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, develop strong leadership skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and become lifelong, self-directed learners. The foundation of these programs is built upon St. Vincent’s Medical Center core values of service, reverence, integrity, wisdom, creativity and dedication.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and accepts two (2) PGY1 residents per year. The PGY1 Community Residency program is in Candidate status with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and accepts (1) PGY1 resident.
