How to Apply

Q: How do I apply to the Residency Program?
A: All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and applicants must register for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).


Q: When is the deadline for application?
A: All applications must be submitted by November 15th.


Q: Do you accept international medical graduates?
A: Yes. In addition to meeting the above requirements, we prefer:

  • Meaningful US clinical experience of at least two months
  • Strong interest in Internal Medicine
  • > For H-1B visa sponsorship, Step 3 results must be availableby April 1st.
  • ECFMG Certification is not required at the time of application but must be completed prior to the start of residency.

Q: Do you sponsor visas?
A: We sponsor J1 and H-1B visas.


Q: What is required for a complete application for the Categorical and Preliminary Programs?
A: The following is required:

  • ERAS application
  • NRMP Registration
  • Three letters of reference
  • MSPE Letter (US Graduates)
  • USMLE Step 1 must be completed before applying. Step 2 CK and CS completion is required for International Medical Graduates. A score of 215 or higher on first attempt is desired.
  • Should have graduated within the last 5 years unless there has been extensive residency and/or fellowship training and ongoing clinical responsibility

Q: Do you offer observerships and externships?
A: Unfortunately, observerships and externships are not offered.


Q: When are interviews conducted?
A: Interviews start in October and continue through the end of December. All interview invitations are sent through ERAS and Interview Broker.


Q: Can I check up on the status of my application?
A: Due to the large number of applications we receive, we cannot check the individual status of each application, nor can we answer individual inquiries.


Q: How many positions are there in the Categorical Internal Medicine Program?
A: We accept 10 residents per year.


Q: How many positions are there in the Preliminary Year Program?
A: We accept up to 6 residents per year.
