The Welcome Center at Westport provides streamlined access to inpatient behavioral health services for people medically stable enough to safely bypass the local emergency department and schedule a telephone behavioral health assessment appointment with the goal of safely transitioning to an appropriate inpatient care setting.
It’s a seamless process and you can self-refer by telephone Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
If you want help for urgent behavioral health concerns schedule a comprehensive, confidential telephone screening to see if you’re able to be evaluated for direct admission. Schedule by calling 203.341.4500.
After scheduling an appointment, the Welcome Center team will talk with you about your history and current challenges, then schedule a same-day or next-day in-person appointment for a comprehensive behavioral health assessment with a licensed clinician, nurse and psychiatrist.
Based on this assessment, our team will work together to offer a psychiatric and medical evaluation and safe transition to care. If after assessment on-site a direct admission is indicated, the admission process will start seamlessly and immediately after the assessment concludes. If the assessment recommendation is for a level of care other than inpatient, resources will be provided and referrals made to the best less-acute level of care.
No physician referral is required and we accept most major insurances.
Telephone screening is required before appointments are scheduled. Call 203.341.4500.
