Urgent/Walk-In Care

Walk in. No appointment needed!

SVMC Urgent Care

Bumps, bruises, sprains, aches, and sneezes. For treatment of non-life-threatening illness and injuries, along with physical exams and X-rays, Hartford HealthCare Urgent Care Walk-In centers are there to provide you with medical care and advice. With five locations in Fairfield county, we’re there to get you feeling back to normal fast. And since illness and injury doesn’t always happen when the doctor’s office is open, we’re open late and early.

For immediate care when you need it, rely on our Urgent Care Centers, open 7 days a week.

All centers offer Rapid and PCR Covid testing.

Diagnostic testing for coronavirus testing couldn’t be easier. Walk-In COVID-19 testing is currently available at all our Fairfield County urgent care locations, including Fairfield, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, and Trumbull Center. Both PCR testing and Rapid COVID-19 Antigen testing are available at all sites. Our providers will even provide on-site guidance about which test is best for you.

  • RT-PCR Testing
RT-PCR (Reverse Transcriptase polymerase chain reaction) is a type of viral diagnostic test that specifically identifies the RNA sequences that comprise the genetic material of the virus.  A test specimen is obtained from the patient with a simple nasal swab, and sent to an outside lab for processing and testing.  These tests are highly sensitive and able to detect very small amounts of viral RNA.  The results will be available in a couple days either by phone or through your MyChart account.

  • Rapid Covid Antigen Testing
Antigen tests are immunoassays that detect the presence of a specific viral antigen, which indicates a current viral infection.  A test specimen is obtained from the patient with a simple nasal swab, and it is processed and analyzed on site by the clinical staff.  Results return within 15 minutes, so you will be able to know your results at the time of the visit.
