Opportunities

Volunteer Services provides complementary services to patients, families, visitors and staff. There are many opportunities available for our volunteers at different areas of the hospital and off-site locations, in both clinical and nonclinical roles.

Working Together

Let us pair your skills and talents with the best volunteer positions available. We work together with our volunteers, finding an assignment that matches their interests, abilities, and availability according to the Medical Center's needs. Our assignments are restricted to weekdays, 9am-5pm. Evening and weekend options are not available.

We value our volunteers and the giving of their time and talents. Volunteers receive these special perks at the Medical Center: Free parking each time you volunteer, a complementary meal each day you volunteer, an annual appreciation lunch and gift, and a discount in our Gift Shop.

NOTICE: Student Volunteer Applications Closed

Due to an overwhelming response, we are no longer accepting applications for our Student Summer Volunteer Program. We have received far more qualified applicants than we can accommodate this year.

Thank you to everyone who applied to volunteer. We were incredibly impressed by the number of talented, enthusiastic students who expressed interest in our program. Unfortunately, we simply do not have enough volunteer roles available to offer positions to all qualified applicants this summer.

If you submitted a volunteer application for the summer, we will keep your information on file. We encourage interested candidates to check back in early September when applications for after school volunteering will reopen.

We appreciate your understanding. For those who are not selected this year, we encourage you to explore other volunteer opportunities in the community this summer.

St. Vincent's Medical Center Summer Student Volunteer Program 2026

The Summer Student Volunteer Program offers college and high school students the opportunity to gain valuable healthcare experience while serving our patients, staff, and the community.

Program Details:

Dates: May 1 – August 31, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM shift
Commitment: Minimum of 1 day per week for a 4-hour shift for 8 weeks
What's Included: Uniform shirt provided and must follow St. Vincent's Medical Center dress code
