Jean M. LaVecchia served as vice president, human resources and ethics officer for the Northeast Utilities system (NU). As a member of the senior management committee, she was responsible for all aspects of human resources.
Most recently, LaVecchia was instrumental in obtaining significant funding from the NU Foundation for UCONN’s School of Engineering Sustainable Energy program and for revitalizing the technical program and scholarship opportunities for Naugatuck Valley Community College.
A native of Connecticut, Jean joined NU in November of 1999. She has served as chairperson of the board of Achievement First Hartford Academy and was appointed by Governor Rell to serve on the Connecticut Commission for the Advancement of 21st Century Skills and Careers.
Jean has also been a member of the advisory board for Project Opening Doors and has served as a member of the Connecticut Board of Governors for Higher Education and the University of Connecticut’s Business School Advisory Board.
